Coined the "flattest century in New Mexico," the TORGV runs from the Bernalillo County / Int'l Sunport Rail Runner Station located at 113 Rio Bravo SE, ABQ NM and continues south through Los Lunas, Belen and loops around Bernardo, NM. The route runs parallel with the Rio Grande the entire length with beautiful views and sights of the more relaxed side of New Mexican life. The ride offers multiple distance points for riders of any caliber. Tandems ride for the price of one!
TORGV 2015 takes riders on scenic flat roads through the Rio Grande Valley. The long routes pass through Isleta, Los Lunas, Belen, Bernardo and return to Albuquerque.
Money raised from TORGV 2015 will fund BCNM staff and its successful bicycle education, promotion, and advocacy programs.
If you are a returning rider, the route has changed. BCNM's #1 priority is to offer the safest ride as possible. Over the current years of the ride's reincarnation we've made our best efforts to make cycling through downtown ABQ safe; however, we felt it best to change the starting point more south and extend the loop into Bernardo.
Also, in regards to safety, there is a 500 rider sign-up limit.
TORGV is a premium New Mexico century. We feel that a ride should offer the very best refreshments for riders to keep their energy up and their health in check. Each rest stop will have the following: Clean filtered water, Gatorade made with clean filtered water, PB & J sandwiches, nuts, dried fruit, cut bananas, cut oranges, chocolate covered fruits or nuts and a variety of other goodies.
Registration is $80 for non-members and $40 for BCNM members. Become a member here. For non-members, there will be a $20 late fee after September 13th -- $100 total. For members, $10 late fee after September 13th -- $50 total. Perks include: Ride T-shirt, ankle slap bands, collectible TORGV 2015 lapel pin, power bar and other goodies TBA!
