The Bike Coalition of New Mexico, St. Vincent's Hospital, and the City of Santa Fe put on a "Bike Rodeo" at the Earth Day Celebration 4/26/2003 in Santa Fe at Warehouse21. Ron Pacheco from the City of Santa Fe borrowed the "Rodeo Roadshow Trailer" from the City of Albuquerque, and a BUNCH of BCNM members helped man the stations which included: helmet fitting, hand signals, traffic safety, and obstacle avoidance. Over 60 children participated, and 40 helmets supplied by the St. Vincent's Trauma Dept. were given to children that needed them. A great time was had by all!

This type of educational class are an ongoing part of what BCNM members are doing to take Bike Safety education to their communities. Partnering with the Helmet Program sposored by St. Vincent's, we have had several very successful and FUN "Rodeos" to promote safe riding with helmets.
If you would like to have a Bike Rodeo at your school, church, or civic organization please contact us... We'll see what we can get set up!
